The Virginia Joint Coalition for Learning Disabilities and Literacy has formed a collaboration of Virginia organizations associated with support for literacy and learning disability, Virginia Council for Learning Disabilities, Decoding Dyslexia Virginia, the NAACP education committees of the Fairfax, Arlington, and Prince William chapters, The Reading League Virginia, and the Virginia Branch of the International Dyslexia Association. The mission of VJCLDL is to provide free professional development targeting a greater understanding of learning disabilities and literacy as identified by K-12 general and special educators, pre-service teachers, higher education faculty, and parents. We began a 2021-2022 series of webinars designed from the results of a Needs Assessment completed by general and special educators, parents, university and college faculty, and others.
