Head of School Search – Radcliffe Creek School

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Radcliffe Creek School in Chestertown, Maryland is seeking a new Head of School to begin on July 1, 2018. Led by founding Director, Molly Judge, Radcliffe Creek has earned the respect of educational professionals on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and beyond. From modest beginnings, the school now features an early childhood program which currently enrolls 65 students and a K-8 division with full enrollment of 93 students.

The school’s mission is simple and direct: Radcliffe Creek School empowers children in a dynamic environment and celebrates unique learning. “The Radcliffe Way” centers on answering essential questions and requires students with diverse learning styles to reflect on how they learn, how to utilize strategies that work best for them, and how to self-advocate. The traditional subjects, like reading, language arts, and math, are staples of the program and are taught by an excellent and experienced faculty. The unique Discovery Program immerses students in scientific or social studies projects for nine- week blocks. Rooms with whiteboards, use of Chrome Book computers, and a vast software library facilitate targeted learning for those with disabilities.  Extracurricular offerings include art, drama, music, interscholastic and recreational sports, and a vast array of “enrichment” activities.

The school is seeking an educator who aligns with its mission and philosophy, who is an excellent communicator, who will fit well into the community and culture of RCS, and who has experience assessing and working with early childhood through eighth-grade children who learn differently. Strategic planning, financial management, and community outreach are among the areas on which the next Head of School will need to focus.

I will be grateful for any suggestions of individuals you know who might be interested and/or qualified given the brief description above. A lengthier position description is available here.
